Major Judith Schultz was asked to lead a time of 'Remembrance' for those who lost their homes due to the floods in 1953. This short service took place on the 11th May during an event at the 1st Barking & Dagenham Scout Hut - at which members of the Creekmouth Preservation Society were present to help the youngsters gain their local history awards.
We joined the Creekmouth Preservation Society today as they contributed to The Thames Ward map by telling Amy, Catherine and Tom (Make:Good) stories about the Creekmouth Village and helped to mark difference aspects of the village on the map. We also had the opportunity to stensil pictures of airplanes using an old Adana printing machine. This photo shows Janine in action... The Thames Ward map will eventually be displayed in the Rivergate Centre in September.
